PRESIDENT

Becky Steffens

The PTO President serves as the leader of the group and a key contact for members, officers and constituents. The President presides at all meetings and events and ensures all efforts are being directed toward meeting the group’s goals and objectives.

  • Heads meetings

Becky is the parent of a 4th grader at Brick Elementary. She enjoys Detroit sports and U of M football. Her biggest PTO task is managing the annual Silent Auction. 

Catherine

Cicchon

Performs the president's duties in their absence and serves as the parliamentarian for the board. The vice president also coordinates enrollment growth and arranges for presentations at general membership meetings.

Catherine's largest PTO task is finding rants for the PTO and the MSU vs U of M Tailgate.

The PTO Secretary maintains the group’s calendar of events and keeps a log of important notes from all general meetings. Maintaining an accurate history of key points discussed at each meeting is vital to keeping communication open and transparent.

Katie is the parent of a Brick Elementary third grader and a young 5s student. Katie enjoys hiking and yoga. Her largest PTO task is managing the Brick Buck cart. She is also the main point of contact for all email communication with the PTO. 

Bridget

Clough

TREASURER

The PTO Treasurer is responsible for all funds that pass through the organization’s doors. This includes money collected at events and fundraisers as well as the disbursement of funds. The treasurer is also responsible for ensuring accurate bookkeeping.

Bridget is the parent of a kindergartener and 3rd grader at Brick. She is passionate about social justice advocacy and loves reality TV.

Bridget's largest PTO task is managing Staff Appreciation Week.

FUNDRAISING

Katie

O'Neal

A fundraising chair for a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is responsible for planning and organizing fundraising events to support the school's needs. They are a key player in the PTO's financial future and work with a variety of people to achieve their goals:

  • Planning and organizing

  • Recruiting Volunteers

  • Working with others

  • Developing a sponsorship team

  • Working with school admins

  • Creating plans

  • Presenting Reports

My husband Michael and I have four kids; Malik, Jayden, Nathan, and Ruth. We’ve been at Brick for FIVE years and have many more to go! We like to build model rockets, tend to our duck flock and play board games. We can often be found outside in our yard or at a Little League game. We love the Brick community and really enjoy working with PTO to help make Brick even better!

Katie's largest PTO task is managing the Holiday Shop.
